Welcome to GeoCamera: GPS Map Camera & Stamp (“GeoCamera”, “the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), owned and developed by Brainfleck Solutions.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information collected or processed when you use our mobile application on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we access, how it is handled, the lawful basis for processing, and your rights concerning your personal data in accordance with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, Apple App Store Review Guidelines, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP).

By installing, accessing, or using GeoCamera, you signify that you have read, understood, and agreed to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the application.

2. Fundamental Architecture: Local-First & Zero Cloud Storage

GeoCamera is built with a strict Local-First, Privacy-by-Design Architecture:

  • No User Accounts: You are never required to register, sign up, or create an account with a password or email to access the camera, stamping tools, or geotag features.
  • On-Device Media Storage: Every photo taken, video recorded, digital signature drawn, and batch-stamped image remains strictly inside your device’s local storage and gallery (Pictures/GeoCamera).
  • Zero Remote Image Transmission: We do NOT operate remote image-hosting servers, cloud databases, or media repositories. We never upload, inspect, share, or sell your photos, videos, or metadata.
  • On-Device Stamp Baking: Stamping computations (embedding GPS coordinates, altitude, compass bearing, custom notes, digital signatures, and map snapshots) are performed exclusively on your phone’s local hardware engine.

3. Device Permissions & Prominent Disclosures

To operate as a precision GPS camera and geotagging tool, the App requests runtime permissions on your device. Each permission is strictly used for real-time foreground execution:

3.1. Precise & Approximate Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)

  • Purpose: To calculate real-time GPS telemetry including latitude, longitude, altitude, and location accuracy, and to query reverse-geocoding services for city, state, country, and street addresses.
  • Prominent Disclosure: Location data is accessed solely while the App is open and in active use on your screen.
  • Data Retention: Location information is processed ephemerally in real-time memory. It is imprinted onto the image pixels only when you take a photo or apply a stamp. It is never tracked silently in the background when the app is closed, and it is never transmitted to our servers or third-party brokers.

3.2. Camera (CAMERA)

  • Purpose: Required to provide the camera viewfinder preview, capture still photographs, record videos, adjust camera lens orientation, toggle flash modes, and adjust grid lines.
  • Data Retention: The camera feed is rendered directly to your screen in real time. We do not transmit or view any live camera feed.

3.3. Photos, Storage & Media Access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

  • Purpose:
    1. To save captured and stamped photos and videos directly into your device gallery (Pictures/GeoCamera).
    2. To allow you to pick existing images from your gallery for the “Bulk Stamp” and “Edit Image” geotagging features.
  • Data Retention: Files are accessed strictly based on your deliberate selection and are saved locally to your device storage.

3.4. Hardware Sensors (Compass, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Accelerometer)

  • Purpose: To calculate real-time magnetic heading, azimuth angle, compass direction (N/S/E/W), and elevation/tilt for engineering, construction, surveying, and architectural templates.
  • Data Retention: Sensor telemetry is calculated in temporary RAM and is never logged externally.

4. Third-Party Services & SDK Disclosures

While we do not host personal data on our own servers, the App utilizes trusted third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to enable subscriptions, app stability, and ad delivery:

4.1. RevenueCat & Google Play Billing (In-App Subscriptions)

  • What Data is Processed: Anonymous App User IDs, transaction receipt identifiers, product subscription entitlement state (geocamera_monthly_pro, geocamera_yearly_pro), and purchase timestamps.
  • Purpose: To authenticate and maintain PRO subscription privileges, enable subscription restores when switching devices, and prevent payment fraud.
  • Security & Payment Details: All payment processing is handled directly by Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchases. We never have access to, nor do we store, your credit/debit card numbers, bank credentials, or billing billing details.

4.2. Google Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics (Crash Reporting & App Quality)

  • What Data is Processed: Anonymous crash logs, stack traces, device model, operating system version, and general engagement statistics.
  • Purpose: To identify system bugs, prevent app crashes, monitor rendering performance, and optimize stamp template rendering speed.

4.3. Google AdMob (Advertising – Free Tier Users Only)

  • What Data is Processed: Mobile Advertising Identifiers (Google Advertising ID / Apple IDFA), coarse location (country/city), and ad performance interactions.
  • Purpose: To display contextual and non-intrusive advertisements to users on the free version of the App. Users who upgrade to the PRO plan receive a 100% ad-free experience.
  • Opt-Out: You can reset or limit personalized advertising at any time through your device operating system:
    • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID
    • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking

4.4. OneSignal (Optional Push Notifications)

  • What Data is Processed: Anonymous push notification device tokens.
  • Purpose: To notify users about new stamp templates, feature enhancements, and critical updates. You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings.

5. Map & Geocoding Services

Map tiles, previews, and geocoded addresses within the App are rendered using public geocoding and map tile providers (such as OpenStreetMap / Nominatim or Google Maps Platform).

  • When fetching street addresses, the latitude and longitude coordinates are sent via encrypted HTTPS requests to reverse-geocoding endpoints solely to resolve the address string (e.g., street name, postal code, city).
  • No personal identity is attached to these geocoding queries.

6. Data Security & Encryption in Transit

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • Encryption in Transit: All network requests initiated by integrated SDKs (RevenueCat, AdMob, Firebase, Geocoding) are strictly encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS / Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3) protocols.
  • On-Device Sandboxing: Your photos, digital signatures, and metadata remain protected by the native security sandboxing mechanisms of Android and iOS.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)

GeoCamera is designed for general utility, civil engineering, land surveying, real estate, travel, and professional documentation purposes.

  • The App is intended for users 18 years of age and older.
  • We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union).
  • If we become aware that personal information from a minor has been mistakenly processed, we will take immediate measures to purge such data.

8. Data Retention, Control, and Deletion Rights

Because we do not store your media, locations, or account credentials on cloud servers:

  • Instant Data Deletion: You retain 100% control over your data. To delete all saved photos, signatures, custom location cards, and preferences, you can either:
    1. Delete photos directly from your device’s photo gallery.
    2. Clear the application cache and storage via Settings > Apps > GeoCamera > Storage > Clear Data.
    3. Uninstall the App from your device.
  • Subscription Cancellation: You can cancel or change your recurring subscription at any time directly through the Google Play Store (Google Play Store > Profile Icon > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions) or Apple App Store.

9. Compliance with Global Privacy Frameworks

9.1. European Union (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, we process telemetry and subscription data based on legitimate business interests (app security, crash prevention, and delivering purchased digital entitlements). You have the right to access, rectify, restrict, or object to processing by contacting us.

9.2. California (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or location data to third parties. We do not share your private photos or telemetry with data brokers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features, operational practices, or updates in legal and store review requirements. When updates are published:
